Why Retreat?

2011 Retreat

With the amount of time and energy many women spend juggling work, family, and attending to others - there is little, if any, time left for reflection and self-renewal. studies show the effects of constant stress and multi-tasking can lead to diabetes, heart disease, asthma, depression and chronic fatigue among other health risks. Taking time for yourself to relax, reflect and have fun can greatly improve your health and outlook on life, and leave you feeling refreshed and ready to tackle life's challenges.

Retreat offers a time apart in which you can view your world in a different light and through different eyes. With the friendship and support of like-minded women, it is a place to celebrate the gifts, acknowledge the grief, and honor your unique spirit without worrying about how others see you, or what jobs still have to be done.

Heartworks retreats offer just that. With daily yoga andbody movement you will learn to be in your body lovingly; guided imagery and meditation will teach you to be calm and mindful, and the creative activities will encourage self-reflection and personal growth. There is time to be together as a group, time for being alone and reflective, and time to relax and have fun.  Everything, of course, is optional; you can participate in as much or as little as you like.  Some of you may come for just a vacation with some yoga and a chance to explore your creative potential; some may want to work more intently.  Come by yourself, or invite friends to join you. Either way, it is your retreat!

"We come into life to give certain gifts. If we don't give them, who else will? We are so unique, individual - it would be a precious gift lost to the world if we didn't share." ~anonymous
