2012 Women's Weekend
Join us September 6-9, 2012 for the 14th Annual Women's Weekend on Lake Winnipesaukee!
Workshops for 2012 are coming together - you can look forward to Jan & Heidi leading us in yoga, and Jan treating us to an "Ear Embellishments" workshop. Ginger, Darlene and Dorothy are creating a group presentation, and Audrey will be sharing her talents both as a singer/songwriter and as a presenter. In addition to yoga and Nia, we'll try Bangarra dancing. And much, much more!
Chip is offering a full day hike on Saturday, Sept 8th, if anyone is interested. To honor the memory of the lives lost on 9/11, 1n 2002 a dedicated group of hikers organized a hike to place an American Flag atop each of NH's 4000 footers. Names of the lost are carried and remembered at the summit.
Chip, along with Camp Calumet Program Director Matt Lewis will be leading a team up Mt. Pierce (formerly knows as Mt. Clinton); approximately a 3 hour hike to the summit, using the Crawford Path. The trail is considered the oldest continually maintained footpath in the US, first cut in 1819 and is a moderate hike with relatively good footing the entire climb. Mt. Pierce is ranked 27th amont the 48 4000 footers in NH and offers a spectacular view of the Presidential range. Plans are to leave Camp Belknap by 6:30AM to make the 1 1/2 hour trip to the trailhead and returning to camp around 6:30 that evening. Further info on the hike can be found at Flagsonthe48.org
The team needs to register by early July, so pre-registration for the hike is necessary. If interested please contact Caryn.
