2012 Retreats and Adventures
Plan your life as if you’ll live forever, live your life as if it will end tomorrow. ~unknown
So much of our lives are often consumed with attentiveness to others, the busyness of work, going from place to place and simply doing, doing, doing - that we end up feeling exhausted and depleted, or with a feeling that something is missing.
What’s missing for most of us, is the pause; giving ourselves the time and space to honor the present. Retreat is that pause from the everyday, a time apart in which we can see our world in a different light, and through different eyes. It is a place where we can celebrate the gifts, acknowledge the grief, and honor our unique spirit without worrying about how others see us, or what jobs still have to be done. Retreat gives us time to find rather than seek, relish the unexpected, replenish body and soul, wait patiently, live into the questions, get re-acquainted with ourselves and open up to the spaciousness of a day. That is what I hope you will accomplish on these retreats together.
We will do that by spending time in the pause – with our breath, in our bodies, and through the guided activities. There will be time to be together as a group, time for being alone and reflective, and time to relax and have fun. Everything, of course, is optional; you can participate in as much or as little as you like. Some of you may come for just a vacation with some yoga and a chance to explore your creative potential; some may want to work more intently. Come by yourself, or invite friends to join you. Either way, it is your retreat!
“A musician must make music, an artist must paint, a poet must write if he is to be ultimately at peace with himself.” ~Abraham Maslow
